Shirley Cha, B.Mus. & M.Mus. in Piano Performance at the University of British Columbia

Shirley Cha (BMus & MMus, UBC) has studied with Anna Levy during her high school years. She has performed in various music festivals such as the Coquitlam District Music festival, Pacific Youth Piano Festival, and Richmond Music Festival and has won numerous awards. In 2015, Shirley was accepted to the School of Music at the University of British Columbia. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in 2019. During her course of study, she studied Piano Pedagogy for two years with Mark Anderson. In 2019, she has won the first prize (21 years old) from CMC (Canadian Music Competition). In the fall of the same year, she began her graduate studies in piano performance at UBC under Mark Anderson. She received her Master of Music degree in 2022.

Fluent in both English and Korean, Shirley believes that music is a language that everyone around the world speaks and understands. She has years of experience teaching students of all levels, from young beginners to adults. For each individual student, she designs a lesson plan that best suits their age, interest, and ability.
